Averaging about 3 hours of sleep a night (and day--does a 10 minute snooze during Sesame Street count?) I realize that trying to compose a coherent blog post is . . . what is the word? Oh, yeah. Impossible (you should know it took three times to spell that right).
Let's just spill it . . .
Rainn Wilson. Funny. I don't even watch The Office. He was on Conan and his wit gave me weak knees. I found him rather sexy in a geek-love sort of way.
Baby still has no blog name. What she does have is a favorite sleeping position. On me, one arm tucked up under my armpit, her head wedged up under my chin, her body curled up on my chest. Best accessory I've ever owned.
Pajamas. I have no idea how to get out of them. Showers elude me. You can fake clean hair with baby powder.
Baby girl dreams. My sister-in-law once said that she thinks babies dream of breasts. Every time I see baby girl's eyes flutter I imagine she sees all sorts of boobs--all shapes and sizes. Some sporting wings and flying around performing air acrobatics. Others basking in the sun. A few swimming in pools of milk. It makes me laugh.
I wish I could wear a Onesie.
No. I don't. Neither do you.
I get to change the diaper of a toddler and the diaper of a newborn. I've never experienced such joy. Heard in our household last week:
Dad (shouts from JR's room--upstairs): OMG, L, you gotta see this. I see corn, raisins, and I have no idea. D-A-M-N. Massive stinkage.
Mom (me--shouting from the living room): Um, T. Sorta busy. I got stringy seedy stuff down here. Excellent shade of mustard yellow.
Dad: Man, if this is our idea of fun on a Friday night, I can't wait for Saturday!
Mom (reaching for another wipe and shoving a diaper under a tiny puckered butt): Neither can I. *sigh*
A mom from my mom's group brought a meal that contained a homemade cheesecake. I ate the entire thing. I told her I shared it with my husband. I lied.
JR has finally realized that baby girl is here to stay. He seems OK with that.
And so do I.

Does't your son's hiney look huge to you now in comparison with your daughter's? I remember that clearly.
We did used to wear onesies--the leotard things with snaps that we wore with skirts in the 70s. What were we thinking?
I'm sure you shared the thought of the cheesecake with your husband. And we all know it's the thought that counts!
I remember those days all too well! My oldest two are 20 months apart - some days I swore I changed the equivalent of my weights worth in diapers . . . which after near back-to-back pregnancies, was saying A LOT.
It gets better, it gets easier (by comparison to say teaching a squirrel to do a handstand), and it becomes so much fun - hang in there!
(And does Baby Girl like to be swaddled? It took me until the 3rd kid to figure out that wrapping her up like a burrito made her oh so happy. Wonder if it will work with the preschooler and toddler . . .)
Oh the poop talk, how I miss it! I am shut out of the bm excitement now that they are 8 and 5. *wah*
It all goes by so quickly, really, enjoy every second!
Thinking of you.
Oh good Lord. The sleep deprevation is the worst. It is actually painful. And I can't believe I just keep willingly putting myself through it. So crazy. I am really concerned about that now that I think of it. Oh dear.
Still, life is grand, isn't it?
Hang in there, momma! :)
Lack of sleep is an actual torture device. I am glad that there are people bringing you meals. (And you deserve all of the cheesecake if you want it.) I hope sleep returns soon. As for getting past the poop talk? Well, I think you have until they can wipe their own bums and flush the potty alone before that conversation is finally over. But at least there's cheesecake.
she sounds like a little klingon the way she sleeps. Cute.
I can't even imagine how tired you have to be. They always say it gets easier. I'm hoping that it will for you guys.
Sounds like good times.
I was so lucky, I was hell-bent to get my son potty trained before his sister was born, and I succeeded!
I totally remember onesies being hawt in the early 90's. It was tight, and you were supposed to pair it with jeans and a flannel shirt.
As for the poo festival? Hawt. I'll be joining you soon.
I am dying of laughter with the oneies because as your other commentor stated I am so guilty of wearing those painful things back in the day..
Sleep.. what is sleep? haha
:) There is nothing like changing a big diaper after changing a newborn diaper. Eww... That is usually what makes mothers want to potty train.
:)
I would love to be able to wear a one piece outfit. AND look as cute as a newborn.
if you never leave your PJs... you don't NEED clean hair. ;)
sounds like you are tiredly content... just as a new mama should be.
Congrats!!! Can't wait to see more pics!!
Glad to know that things are going along fairly smoothly for you.
After I had Jonathan I totally could have eaten an entire cheesecake. I did eat an entire cheeseSTEAK and that was awesome.
Glad to see you back for a little while anyhow.
(And I think a onesie would be lovely....until I had to pee then ...that would suck.)
You still have it, ya know? Even with your brain leaking out of your nipples, you rock.
Even sleep deprived...you can make me laugh!
And, you are so blessed! :)
You are funny--even if you are sleep deprived!
The fact that you can even type one WORD of a blog post makes you a hero in my eyes.
Oh the days when poop stories were an everyday thing...oh wait, they still are, only without the diapers, and usually involving a joke. Boys.
hang in there!
Oh the joys of a baby in the house...I kinda miss that.
Not enough to have another baby (screaming in my head) perhaps you can just come and visit with yours;)
Yep, yep and YEP. It's a glamorous life, ain't it?
Congrats again! I hope you get some rest soon. I love that sleeping position, sounds absolutely precious. She probably likes hearing your heartbeat :) You should make sure your husband gets a picture or two of that ;)
Is it bad to admit that I pulled the baby powder in the hair move last week?
God's honest truth.
And I don't even have a newborn. Hope you're getting more sleep! :)
I so don't miss those mustard diapers. Or onesies. But wee babes are darling!
Sounds about right.
Exactly as it should be.
Right?
We chose this life, right?
:)
