Wordless Wednesday: Goodbye My Love . . .

Not quite so wordless, but you'll understand when you hear of my heartbreak.

He isn't quite 20 lbs. And, it still worked! We thought the love affair would last . . . but alas, it is not meant to be. The magic swing (that rocked you to sleep so easily it was as if a magic fairy had sprinkled sleep dust on you) may very well be leaving us . . . What do you think?

Goodbye sweet swing . . . goodbye. *sniff*

awww but just think soon you'll be able to go the playground and use the swing there!

Good point, Lori!!! I can't help but imagine all the trouble he can get into there. Ugh!!

BTW, I had planned on posting some pics of my yard--front and back. I have no idea why. Because I finally weeded it, maybe . . .

J was performing these stunts JUST this morning. So, what did I do . . . grab my camera and blog about it OF COURSE! What any good momma would do!!!

Those swings were fantastic, weren't they?!

Great pictures.

I hate when they grow up before your very eyes.

Well... CRAP..... now you have to come up with a new sleeping plan..... which I'll admit is one of the parts of parenting I HATE the most.

What sweet pics! Little Elvis completely flipped his bouncy seat, but I was nowhere near a camera. I hate that I'm the only one who got to see it. Here's hoping you find a new type of magic sleepy dust.

How that's funny! I remember when Ozzie was doing that. Ozzie was the only baby we used a swing with and he LOVED that one.

Happy WW

He's such a cutie! We had to put the swing up about a month ago. You'll never guess why??? MM figured out how to unsnap her little sister. HJ was hanging out of it when I found her. Those girls are trouble already. What will I do during the teenage years???

Texasholly said...

it is sooo gone.

Mom said...

Oh it is a sad day when the swing goes, I shed a tear or two myself. Hang in there :)

I loved the swing! I so miss those days when I see pictures like this! **sob!**

Well, he's adventurous, at least!

Ha! Both of those photos are so sweet that my teeth ache :)

We never had baby swings, but I'm sure I would've felt the same way about letting them go.

Alex actually burned the motor out of that swing. And I was so sad to see it go that although it's broken (I think) it's still in his closet...waiting.

For what? I don't know.

He still looks like he loves it :)
Cute!
Happy WWW!

omg, the second picture, his little face...I want to kiss him.

Yeah, I would say the swing is on its way out...so sad.

He's growing up on you right before your eyes! Now it's time for big boy swings at the park or in the back yard! And for each sweet moment you think you've lost in these changes you'll find that many new treasures in the next phase of his life!

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for a glimpse of your sweet baby boy!

ps. I totally agree with your AI recap!

Jennifer said...

you may be sad about this and I can totally understand and relate to you... but J looks pretty darn happy!! :)

It was always bitter sweet in my house whenever we had a "milestone" type thing... growing out of toys and baby stuff... a little sad that it was going so fast but excited to try out newer things. :)

He is just a doll! I want to just eat em' up!!

Enjoy every minute, they go so fast!

That is absolutely HILARIOUS!! Well, not so funny, but VERY funny at the same time! :)

Moving on to bigger and better toys!

I miss my swing, and I miss looooonnnnnngggg baby naps. This 1-2 hours per day is killing me. Good luck with the new plan!!

Kat said...

Aww, and it looks so comfy! Why can't they make those things to hold a little more weight? Like, say, me for instance. I would LOVE to have one of those!

Wineplz said...

our swing's been gone a while (Justin hates it...Cooper was more entertained with his brother than swinging).
and boy is your boy cute!

ConverseMomma said...

He is all boy, huh? My guy leaped out of jumpers, cribs, and swings so early. Now, I spend my days chasing him everywhere. Seriously, no need for cardio, raising an active boy is exercise enough.

Unknown said...

Yep, I think it's time is up! Oh well, it's been a good swing. Hey at least yours isn't walking like mine is... you can see the video on my WW.

Amy said...

He is just so cute cute!

I always used to get sad when it was time to pack up things the boys had outgrown - I still do!

Kristen said...

Oh my goodness, I am morning the loss of the swing as well.

We had that one for Anya, and it was worth more than its weight in GOLD!

So sorry to hear that he is too big. But, check out little tikes, they have an airplane swing that both of ours transitioned to really easily. It is outside, but they both LOVE it. Even Cade. :)

Pam said...

oh it is so sad when it is time to pack the baby stuff away....it was especially bitter sweet with Riley since he is my last baby....

CC said...

Too cute!!!!!! it looks like he loved it! :)

Those pics are priceless. I am sure that parting will be sweet sorrow.

I loved the swing...why do they grow so fast?

HAHAHA - I had to ditch the swing MONTHS ago because Sumo was hanging off the side of it.

But I will say . . .I am still zealously using my Jumperoo even though Sumo technically outweighs it. Damnit it seems sturdy . . . and hell, I'm DESPERATE!

Wendi said...

Loved that swing...ahhh the memories!
Wish I could still put my 12 year old in one.
Those pictures are priceless!!!

He is the cutest thing EVER!!
I hated putting away our swing...it was so sad. Kind of like putting away the cradle....

I wanted one of those for my daughter! We opted for the cheapie one, though.

It'll be tough to part with, only because it means you have to admit he's growing, I bet. :)

Angela Nazworth said...

What a gorgeous baby! Oh I remember the day our daughter out grew her magic swing. sad day for sure.

tommie said...

How cute! I was definitely sad when mine moved out of the swing.

Oh ... perhaps #2 could fix those sobs. :)

Alas, poor swing I knew him well... We loved ours when my kids were little.

Karen MEG said...

Yup, he's a boy all right! Better safe than sorry. Always keeping us on our toes!!

What cute shots... he's growing so quickly!!!

My boy actually wasn't a huge fan of swings, but the girlie always loved them. And now, she loves her daily hit when we pick up her brother... "Higher mommy, higher"... she's gonna give me a heart attack one day!

Cynthia said...

You know I came back here just to tell you, I still really love how your header turned out! I know, I am a dork:P

huddtoo said...

OH NO!!! I take it J took a big of a crash on that. How scary.

Hope he is OK! Gotta love the swings. I agree, time for a backyard swing...and it's getting that time of year too. ;)

Aww, I'm so sorry for your loss. We felt the same way when we had to retire the exersaucer :( *sniff*

Oh that always hurts. I remember crying when they grew out of my favorite car seats.

He is SO stinking cute!
They grow up too fast.

Heather said...

Goodbye, sweet swing, hello sleeplessness.

JK said...

Oh, so sad to part with the swing, but it's not really the swing that you miss, eh?

Anonymous said...

I have already retired so many of his baby toys. It literally made me get all mushy that it was the last time I would ever have them in my house.

Anonymous said...

How cute. He is getting so big. I keep saying that don't I? I loved the 8 1/2 month photos you sent! He is gorgeous. And I'm just not saying that!

krissy said...

I loved the swing too. Actually, I wanted to curl up in a ball and sleep in it myself. So relaxing.

Actually, just steal the swing from the playground, bolt it to the doorway, and swing away baby.

Ha, I'm a genius!!!!

OHmommy said...

I actually CRIED when we out that swing away. We bought it NEW for the 3rd and that is how she slept for months.

No need to worry though.... she JUST figured out how to sleep on her own at 14 months. LOL. :)

Lori said...

Oh, I love that grin in the bottom picture! So cute!

I feel your sadness. Just going from Newborn to Size 1 diapers made me teary .... sigh.
